Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KIAA0232 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KIAA0232’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where KIAA0232 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KIAA0232 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, COAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where KIAA0232 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
