Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KCNJ8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated KCNJ8 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher KCNJ8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KCNJ8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and SKCM show a favorable association.
HNSC, UCEC, and GBM are the cancer types where KCNJ8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
