Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KCNJ5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated KCNJ5 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher KCNJ5 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KCNJ5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
KICH, SKCM, and SARC are the cancer types where KCNJ5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
