Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KANSL1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KANSL1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where KANSL1L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KANSL1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, LUSC, and UCEC are the cancer types where KANSL1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
