Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ITIH5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ITIH5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where ITIH5 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ITIH5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, LUAD, and COAD are the cancer types where ITIH5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
