Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IRGM RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated IRGM data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher IRGM RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IRGM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and SCLC show a favorable association.

LUAD, SCLC, and KIRC are the cancer types where IRGM RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
