Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, INSYN2A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of INSYN2A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where INSYN2A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types INSYN2A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LIHC, and BRCA are the cancer types where INSYN2A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
