Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGFL1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of IGFL1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where IGFL1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types IGFL1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, THCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where IGFL1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
