Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGFBP1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 27 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated IGFBP1 data layer compared with 2 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher IGFBP1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IGFBP1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and BRCA show a favorable association.
STAD, LUAD, and ESCA are the cancer types where IGFBP1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
