Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSD17B6 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HSD17B6 data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher HSD17B6 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HSD17B6 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
SKCM, HNSC, and ACC are the cancer types where HSD17B6 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
