Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSD17B3-AS1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HSD17B3-AS1 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher HSD17B3-AS1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HSD17B3-AS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and READ show a favorable association.

KICH, LGG, and UVM are the cancer types where HSD17B3-AS1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
