Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HP Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HP data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where higher HP Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
THCA, LIHC, and UCEC are the cancer types where HP Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
