Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN2P46 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN2P46’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where HMGN2P46 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN2P46 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LUAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where HMGN2P46 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
