Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN2P25 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN2P25’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where HMGN2P25 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN2P25 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, STAD, and CHOL are the cancer types where HMGN2P25 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
