Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN1P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN1P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where HMGN1P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN1P2 is over-expressed in tumor.

BLCA, KICH, and PRAD are the cancer types where HMGN1P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
