Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HLA-DMA Mutation is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HLA-DMA data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in thymoma (THYM), where higher HLA-DMA Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HLA-DMA expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
THYM, OV, and UCEC are the cancer types where HLA-DMA Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
