Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HLA-DMA mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 7 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HLA-DMA data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher HLA-DMA mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HLA-DMA expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, HNSC, and UCEC are the cancer types where HLA-DMA mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
