Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HIGD1A RNA is linked to patient survival in 27 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HIGD1A data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher HIGD1A RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HIGD1A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as COAD and KIRP show a favorable association.

COAD, ESCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where HIGD1A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
