Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HIGD1A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HIGD1A data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OV), where higher HIGD1A mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HIGD1A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as GBM and HNSC show a favorable association.

OV, UCEC, and CCRCC are the cancer types where HIGD1A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
