Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HIF3A RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HIF3A data layer compared with 13 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher HIF3A RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HIF3A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCS and HNSC show a favorable association.
UCEC, UCS, and HNSC are the cancer types where HIF3A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
