Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HES1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HES1 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher HES1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HES1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, BRCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where HES1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
