Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HERC2P9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HERC2P9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where HERC2P9 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HERC2P9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, BRCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where HERC2P9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
