Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GTPBP1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GTPBP1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where GTPBP1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GTPBP1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, HNSC, and CHOL are the cancer types where GTPBP1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
