Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GSTM5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GSTM5 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in sarcoma (SARC), where higher GSTM5 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GSTM5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
SARC, LUSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where GSTM5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
