Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GRN Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GRN data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher GRN Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GRN expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA show a favorable association.
HNSC, BLCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where GRN Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
