Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GNS RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated GNS data layer compared with 6 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher GNS RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GNS expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SCLC and BRCA show a favorable association.
MESO, LUSC, and LGG are the cancer types where GNS RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
