Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GMFB Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GMFB data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher GMFB Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GMFB expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC and UCEC are the cancer types where GMFB Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
