Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GLRX5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GLRX5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where GLRX5 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GLRX5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, HNSC, and THCA are the cancer types where GLRX5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
