Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GDF11 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GDF11 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher GDF11 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GDF11 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
KICH, COAD, and PRAD are the cancer types where GDF11 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
