Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GAL Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GAL data layer compared with 29 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher GAL Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GAL expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
LUAD, PRAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where GAL Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
