GADD45A

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GADD45A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GADD45A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where GADD45A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GADD45A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, KIRC, and KICH are the cancer types where GADD45A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
