Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FOXE3 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FOXE3’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where FOXE3 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FOXE3 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KIRP, and HNSC are the cancer types where FOXE3 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
