Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FLG2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FLG2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where FLG2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FLG2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as STAD and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, STAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where FLG2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
