Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM8A1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM8A1 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher FAM8A1 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM8A1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and PDAC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where FAM8A1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
