Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM239A RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated FAM239A data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher FAM239A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM239A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as STAD and CESC show a favorable association.
ACC, STAD, and THCA are the cancer types where FAM239A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
