Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM186A RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated FAM186A data layer compared with 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher FAM186A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM186A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and UCS show a favorable association.
KIRC, PAAD, and UCS are the cancer types where FAM186A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
