FAM184B

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM184B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FAM184B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where FAM184B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FAM184B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where FAM184B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
