Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM172A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM172A data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher FAM172A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM172A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
BLCA, KIRC, and SKCM are the cancer types where FAM172A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
