Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM136A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM136A data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher FAM136A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM136A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
GBM and UCEC are the cancer types where FAM136A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
