Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FABP5P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FABP5P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where FABP5P14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FABP5P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where FABP5P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
