Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EVI5L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EVI5L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where EVI5L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EVI5L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KIRC, and KICH are the cancer types where EVI5L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
