Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ERLIN1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ERLIN1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where ERLIN1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ERLIN1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, KICH, and LIHC are the cancer types where ERLIN1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
