Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EPDR1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EPDR1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where EPDR1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EPDR1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where EPDR1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
