Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ELOVL1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated ELOVL1 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher ELOVL1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ELOVL1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC are the cancer types where ELOVL1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
