Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DYRK2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DYRK2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where DYRK2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DYRK2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, BLCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where DYRK2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
