Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DSC1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated DSC1 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher DSC1 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DSC1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
GBM, HNSC, and UCEC are the cancer types where DSC1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
