Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DOP1A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DOP1A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where DOP1A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DOP1A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where DOP1A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
