Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DMD RNA is linked to patient survival in 27 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated DMD data layer compared with 14 for mutation status and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher DMD RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DMD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and UCS show a favorable association.
KIRP, KIRC, and UCS are the cancer types where DMD RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
