Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DLK2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DLK2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where DLK2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DLK2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where DLK2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
