Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFA9P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DEFA9P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where DEFA9P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DEFA9P is over-expressed in tumor.
COAD are the cancer types where DEFA9P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
